Taking Hezbollah at its Word
"[Hezbollah] will not disarm even if the Israelis withdraw from Shebaa Farms...Hezbollah's arms are here to protect Lebanon from any Israeli attack and create a balance of terror in the face of Israel."
All right, then. Perhaps the Lebanese should not view this as defiance, but as a statement of support. As Hezbollah is now defining itself as purely a protect-Lebanon-from-external-threat operation, Lebanon can now ask Hezbollah to integrate its forces with the Lebanese Army, under Army command.
In what better way can such a mission be performed? And if Hezbollah's leaders refuse, exactly why should any Lebanese still follow them?
